Raleigh, N.C. – Triangle Young Professionals Civitan will host its 10th Annual Cornament cornhole tournament this Saturday, August 16, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Maywood Hall and Garden in Raleigh. The fundraising event supports . and features a unique rappelling challenge tied to donation goals.
The tournament, which begins registration at 1:00 p.m. with competition starting at 2:00 p.m., offers cash prizes of $200 for first place and $100 for the runner-up team. Registration costs $40 per two-person team, with all proceeds benefiting Special Olympics NC.
According to organizers, the Cornament serves as their biggest fundraising event to support and raise awareness for Special Olympics NC, an organization they actively partner with throughout the year.
Rappelling Challenge Adds Excitement
The event connects to Triangle YP Civitan’s broader “Over the Edge” fundraising campaign for Special Olympics NC. For every $1,000 raised, the organization will send a Triangle YP member rappelling down the Pendo building in downtown Raleigh.
Tournament Details
The single-elimination tournament follows standard cornhole rules, with teams competing to reach 21 points while winning by at least two points. The event welcomes players of all skill levels, from seasoned competitors to newcomers.
Beyond the tournament, attendees can enjoy food trucks, beverages, and a silent auction featuring items donated by local businesses. The silent auction proceeds will also benefit Special Olympics NC.
