Evelyn Faye Stallings Edmundson, 74, passed away at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield on Wednesday, July 30, 2025 surrounded by her family. Born in Johnston County on August 27, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Johnnie Stallings and Lillie Mae Parnell Stallings.

In addition to her parents, Evelyn is preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Lee Edmundson; and brothers, Johnny Stallings, Jr., Danny Stallings, and Dennis Stallings.

Evelyn is survived by her children, Joseph Chad Edmundson, and Crystal E. Cox and husband, Chris; grandchildren, Kylie Cox, Chandler Cox, Dillon Edmundson, and Damian Edmundson; and great-grandchildren, Peyton and Logan. Evelyn is also survived by her sisters, Judy Braswell and Rita Perry; niece, Jamie; and nephews, Ryan, Todd, Chris, Joseph, and Robert.

Evelyn dedicated many years of her life working for BB&T, where she was known for her professionalism and warmth. Outside of work, she was a social and generous soul, always ready to lend a helping hand and give her time to others.

She had a deep love for good food and good company, and she especially treasured time spent with her grandchildren — taking them on outings to the movies and making lasting memories together.

Evelyn will be remembered for her kindness, her loving spirit, and the joy she brought to those around her.

A service to celebrate Evelyn’s life will be held on Friday, August 1, 2025 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Kenly Funeral Service. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Evelyn will be laid to rest at Pikeville Cemetery following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Princeton Church of God, 6085 US Hwy 70 E, Princeton, NC 27569, to Pine Level Missionary Baptist Church 110 S Peedin Ave, Pine Level, NC 27568, or to a charity of one’s choice in memory of Evelyn.
