Elizabeth “Rose” Sullivan Bailey, aged 71, of Middlesex North Carolina passed away peacefully July 19,2025. Rose was born April 18, 1954 in Johnston County to the late Roman Sullivan and Lizzie Worley. Rose was a devoted wife to James O. Bailey of the home for 44 years.

In addition to her parents, Rose was preceded in death by sixsiblings: Glenn Sullivan, Lou Worley, Buddy Murray, Rochelle Sullivan, Jr. Sullivan, and Jeannette Dupree.

Rose is survived by her 3 children: Karen Peterson of Princeton, Rebecca Sanders of Princeton, and James M. Bailey (Brittany)of Bailey. Rose leaves behind eight grandchildren: Kristina Sanders, Chase Wallace (Rebecca), Tyler Wallace, Summer Allen, Ronnie Allen Jr., Olivia Bailey, Emma Bailey, and Carter Bailey. Also left to cherish her memory are her siblings: Jimmy Sullivan, Shirley Radford, and sister in law: Alice Faye Bailey.

Rose was the definition of strength and stubbornness and displayed these qualities even during all of her medical setbacks. Her feisty, yet caring spirit will be greatly missed. 

The family would like to thank the staff of Wakemed and Transitions LifeCare of Raleigh for the compassionate care that she received.

A time of visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 22, 2025 from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. at Kenly Funeral Service. A celebration of life will be held at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Kenly Funeral Service. Rose will be laid to rest at the Bailey Cemetery in Middlesex following the service.
