Diane Raper Roberson, 74, passed away at her home on July 18, 2025. Born in Wilson County on April 13, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Elwood Raper and Joyce Sullivan Raper.

In addition to her parents, Diane is preceded in death by her husband, Shorty Roberson; and sisters, Gail Hamm and Tracy Raper.

Diane is survived by her children, Melissa Roberson Dowd (Mark), Rabbit Blizzard (Rhonda Langdon), and Tony Roberson; grandchildren, Brooke Davis (Russell), Jacob Dowd, Samantha Strickland (Michael), Reganne Pittman, Damien Roberson, and Mattison Stone; great-grandchildren, Emberly Strickland, Ben Davis, Brinkley Davis, and Tillie Pigg; sister, Pam Hawley (David); special nephew, Ritchie Lucas; sister by choice, Tammy Moore; and special canine friend, Savage.

Diane was someone who truly knew how to enjoy life. She had a big laugh, a bright smile, and a spirit that loved to have a good time with friends and family. Whether she was cracking jokes or sharing stories, Diane brought joy to every room she entered.

She had a passion for fun and wasn’t afraid to live life her way. Diane loved to shoot pool and to spend time on the water fishing. Growing up, she was an avid softball player, always ready to get out on the field.

Diane leaves behind many memories filled with laughter, love, and good times. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 22, 2025 at Kenly Funeral Service from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. A graveside service will follow the visitation at 11:15 a.m. at the Peacock Cemetery on Peacock Road in Kenly. The family will also be receiving friends at other times at 7254 St. Mary’s Church Road, Lucama, NC 27851.
