 July 11, 2025, 75, Goldsboro —

James (Jimmy) Harold Webber Jr., age 75, passed away peacefully on the evening of July 11, 2025, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center, surrounded by his loving family.

Jimmy was born in Wayne County on December 13, 1949, to the late James Harold Webber Sr. and Frances Fulghum Webber. He graduated from high school in 1968 and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in Poultry Science from North Carolina State University. It was during his time at NC State that he met the love of his life, Patricia Gentry. The two were married on April 6, 1974, in Greensboro.

Jimmy spent his life in Wayne County, where he worked alongside his parents and siblings to build New Hope Feeds, a family-run poultry and agricultural business that later became part of Case Farms – Goldsboro Division. After his time in agriculture, Jimmy found deep purpose in education, tutoring students through Wayne Community College’s GED programs at D.A.R.T. and the local correctional facilities. He was passionate about helping others grow and succeed.

A visitation will be held at Seymour Funeral Home on Thursday, July 17, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.

Jimmy is survived by his devoted wife of 51 years, Patricia Webber; his children, James H. Webber III of Fayetteville, David Webber of Goldsboro, and Joseph Webber and wife Rebecca of Fayetteville; his beloved grandson, Liam; his sister, Peggy Kearney and husband Larry; his brother, Robert Webber and wife Diane; brother-in-law Carl Gentry; nephews Lee Webber and Ian Gentry; nieces Dana Webber and Jennifer Brown; and a host of extended family and dear friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to your local Shriners Club, the Food Bank of NC, a local dog rescue organization, or by donating to your local blood bank—causes close to Jimmy’s heart.
