BEAUFORT, N.C. — Carteret Health Care is moving forward with plans to establish a new ambulatory surgical facility in Cedar Point, submitting a certificate of need application to state regulators for the $17.5 million project.
The proposed Carteret Health Care Surgery Center at Cedar Point would involve relocating one operating room from Carteret County General Hospital to create a dedicated outpatient surgical facility. The healthcare system expects to complete the project by October 2027, pending regulatory approval.
Public Input Opportunities
The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services will hold a public hearing to review the proposal on August 14 at 1 p.m. The hearing will take place in Superior Courtroom 2, Room 206 of the Carteret County Courthouse, located at 300 Courthouse Square in Beaufort.
Community members and stakeholders who wish to provide written feedback have until July 31 at 5 p.m. to submit their comments to the Healthcare Planning and Certificate of Need Section.
