June 30, 2025, 82, Goldsboro —
Linwood Earl Farmer, 82, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, June 30, 2025. Born in Wayne County on January 22, 1943, he was son to the late Walter Paul Farmer and Sally Barfield Farmer.
Linwood was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose life was marked by quiet strength, steady presence, and deep love for his family. He found his greatest joy in time spent with those he loved, especially his grandchildren, with whom he shared many happy hours building Lego sets and running a full-scale model train track he built just for them — a testament to both his creativity and generous spirit.
He retired after a long and dedicated career as an engineer with Progress Energy, where he was respected not only for his work ethic but for his integrity and kindness to all who worked alongside him.
Linwood is survived by his children, Chris Farmer and wife, Sherry and his daughter, Brandi Mouch and husband, Trey; his beloved grandchildren, Andrew Farmer, Matthew Farmer, Caroline Farmer, Ethan Fenton, Emma Mouch and Ellis Mouch; his brothers, Carl Farmer and wife, JoAnn, Mickey Farmer and wife, Marian and Tony Farmer and wife, Pam and the mother of his children, Virginia Sanford Farmer.
In addition to his parents, Linwood was preceded in death by his brother, Phil Farmer.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 5, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home in Goldsboro. A service to honor Linwood’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel.
Arrangements are entrusted to Seymour Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
