James Walter Creel, known to most as Jimmy Creel, resident of the Dudley area, passed away Friday afternoon, June 6, 2025, at Wayne UNC Healthcare. He was 90.
Mr. Creel will be best remembered as having operated Goldsboro’s Snack and Cue, a local, legendary pool room. He was retired from A T and T having been a systems technician.
Preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia Price Creel; his parents, Walter Lee and Leola Price Creel; a brother, Cloyce Lee Creel and wife, Polly; sisters, Janie Creel Phillips and husband, William, and Clara Creel Howell and husband, Marvin; and many members of the Price family, Mr. Creel leaves behind his two sons, Galen Curtis Creel and Vincent Lee Creel, both of the Seven Springs area; a granddaugher, Courtney Nicole Creel; and several nieces and nephews.
A gathering at which to remember the life of Mr. Jimmy Creel will be held at Pineview Cemetery, Seven Springs, on Tuesday, June 10, at 10:00 a.m. The Creel boys will greet friends and relatives at the cemetery.
