Emma Jean Kilpatrick Williams Scott, 89, passed away Friday evening, May 30, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro, North Carolina. She is survived by her children; Sue McClenny of Mount Olive, Pam Darveaux and husband Robert of Arizona, 

Murray Carroll Williams, Jr. and wife Vickie of Clayton, Bobby Williams and wife Beverly of Mount Olive, Belinda Blinkoff and husband Robbie of Maryland, Buddy Scott of Goldsboro, Vernon Scott and wife Claudette of Lincolnton, NC, Jim Scott and wife June of Goldsboro, Gary Scott and wife Brenda of Goldsboro. 

Mrs. Emma Jean is also survived by a host of nineteen grandchildren and thirty-two great-grandchildren, as well as a special caregiver and friend, Vickie Wiggins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jimmy C. and Susan Carr Kilpatrick; her husbands, Murray Carroll Williams, Sr. and William Luther “Billy” Scott, Jr.; and her two brothers, William Kilpatrick and Franklin Kilpatrick. Emma Jean loved her church family dearly. There she was involved in the Providence Friends United, and the Hope Circle. She also had devoted her life to helping those in need by becoming a Nurse and retiring from Wayne Memorial Hospital. She also loved volunteering at Grantham School and reading to children.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 3, at 11am at Providence Church in Goldsboro, where she spent her life worshiping the Lord. The family will receive friends beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the church until service time, and also on Monday evening at her home at 220 Sandhill Drive, Goldsboro, from 5-8pm. Burial will follow the service at Wayne Memorial Park in Dudley with the Nightingale Farewell Service being presented.
