Elizabeth Louise Currin Harrell Hill, 94, passed away on Monday, May 26, 2025 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center. Louise was born in Edgecombe County on February 8, 1931.
In addition to her parents, Louise was preceded in death by her husbands, Luther B. Harrell, Jr. and Joseph R. Hill; sister, Goldie Smith; and brother, Robert Currin.
Louise is survived by her children, Steven L. Harrell (Anne), Richard “Rick” R. Harrell (Jane); Barbara H. Baddour (Greg); grandchildren, Nathaniel “Nate” Harrell, Anne Marshall Harrell, Caine Harrell, Lt Col William L. Harrell, USAF, Matthew “Matt” R. Harrell, Andrew E. Harrell, Kristin Louise Baddour, and Amy Elizabeth Baddour; great-grandchildren, Harper Lynn Martin, Logan Harrell, Gavin Harrell, Camden Harrell, and Callie Harrell.
As the cherished wife of military servicemen, Louise lived a life marked by grace and resilience. She faithfully supported both husbands’ service to the country, building a warm and welcoming home for her family wherever they were stationed—including memorable years in France and Germany. Her adaptability and deep sense of purpose made each place they lived not just a residence, but a true home.
Louise’s passion for caring for others extended beyond her family into her professional life as a Registered Nurse. Her nurturing spirit and calm presence brought comfort to countless patients and families throughout her career.
She was a remarkable homemaker who took immense pride in raising her children, instilling in them the values of kindness, perseverance, and faith. Whether preparing a home-cooked meal, planning family travels, or curling up with a good book, Louise found joy in the everyday and made sure those around her felt loved and cared for.
She enjoyed the simple pleasures of life—reading, traveling, cooking, and shopping—but above all, she treasured time spent with her family. Her laughter, wisdom, and warm heart will be missed by all who knew her.
A woman of deep faith, Louise was a longtime member of Adamsville Baptist Church, where she found strength and community throughout her life.
A service to celebrate Louise’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 31, 2025 in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Wayne Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. in the hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
