Michael “Mike” Allen Stafford went to his Heavenly home for eternal healing on Saturday, May 3, 2025, surrounded by his loving family at Kitty Askins Hospice Center. Born in Wayne County on January 23, 1959, Mike was the son of the late Dewitt Allen Stafford and Mary Elizabeth Stafford.
Mike’s life was a true testament to love, faith, strength, and devotion to family and friends. He was a man who lived with purpose and pride in all that he did. He had a deep love for trucking, a passion for NASCAR, and most importantly, a profound commitment to his family. Mike was a faithful member of Tee’s Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, and he will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Alan Worley.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Dianne Stafford; his daughters, Miranda Hill (Jason), Katie Patterson (Jonathan), Harleigh Hill (Chuck), and Kalyn Kennedy; and a special daughter, Autumn McKenna. He is also survived by his sons, Kelby Worley and Sawyer Worley; and his cherished grandchildren: Lawson Hill, Jackson Patterson, Aniston Hill, Shane Hill, Kaiden Walsh, Graisen Lofton, Kiyah Lewis, and Jeziah Lewis. Mike leaves behind his siblings, Donnie Stafford, Curtis Stafford (Joan), Pam Fields (Ricky); and brother-in-law, Amos Worley (Karen), along with many loving nieces and nephews.
Special friends who held a meaningful place in Mike’s life include Kenny Stevens, Vince King, Marty Davenport, and many others.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to everyone who offered support, visited, or helped in any way during Mike’s illness. Your kindness will never be forgotten. A special thank you is also extended to SMOC, Kitty Askins Hospice Center, Preacher Dennis Pollock (Abigail), and Pastor Danny Johnson (Michelle) for their care and compassion.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 8, 2025, from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, followed by a service to celebrate Mike’s life at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Friends and loved ones are also welcome to visit the family at their home, 106 Rose Landing Drive, Goldsboro, on May 5 and May 6 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to SMOC or Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Mike’s memory.
