Goldsboro, N.C. — Downtown Goldsboro was filled with energy, smiles, and community spirit Wednesday as residents gathered for the 28th Annual Hal Plonk Disability Awareness Walk, hosted by the Mayor’s Committee for Persons with Disabilities.

The annual event celebrates inclusivity and raises awareness about the challenges and achievements of individuals living with disabilities in the community. This year’s walk drew a vibrant crowd, with participants of all ages coming together to show support and solidarity.

Named in honor of Hal Plonk, a longtime advocate for disability rights and accessibility, the walk has become a staple in Goldsboro’s calendar, highlighting the city’s commitment to equality and inclusion.
