Wayne County Public Schools Hosting Job Fair on May 13

Goldsboro, N.C.Wayne County Public Schools (WCPS) will host its second Job Fair of the year on Tuesday, May 13, as the district continues efforts to recruit a wide range of certified and classified staff to support its schools.

The event will be held from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. in the Gertrude Weil Auditorium at the Wayne County Public Library’s main branch, located at 1001 E. Ash Street, Goldsboro.

The Job Fair is designed to attract certified professionals, including teachers and school counselors, as well as classified employees, such as bus drivers, cafeteria workers, maintenance and transportation staff, instructional assistants, and receptionists.

“We encourage qualified applicants with an interest or desire to work in our schools to attend this job fair,” said Dr. Yvette Smith Mason, WCPS Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources & Professional Development. “We will have Human Resources and departmental representatives on hand to answer questions about qualifications, salaries, and benefits. We will also walk prospective employees through the application process.”

  • A 30-step salary schedule for classified positions
  • Starting pay for school bus drivers at $17.32/hour, with potential earnings up to $22.33/hour based on experience
