Lexington, K.Y. — (May 5) — University of Mount Olive junior setter Jackson Lahey has been named an American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-American Honorable Mention, marking just the third time in program history that a player has received this national honor.
Lahey, a native of Pembroke Pines, Florida, joins the elite ranks of former Trojan standouts Angel Dache (2014) and Tobi Azeez (2021) as Mount Olive’s only AVCA All-Americans. This recognition adds to a standout season in which Lahey was also named Conference Carolinas Offensive Player of the Year, becoming just the third player in school history to earn the accolade. He was also named to the All-Conference Carolinas First Team for the second consecutive season.
Lahey has consistently dominated the court, ranking second in NCAA Division I with 10.85 assists per set and leading Conference Carolinas with 0.40 aces per set. He also finished seventh in the league in blocks, averaging 0.83 per set. Throughout the season, Lahey recorded at least 35 assists and five blocks in 10 matches, and notched three or more service aces in five contests.
In a milestone achievement, Lahey became Mount Olive’s all-time assists leader, surpassing 2,601 career assists. His accolades also include being named Conference Carolinas Specialist of the Week four times and earning a spot on the All-Tournament Team.
The AVCA, headquartered in Lexington, Kentucky, recognizes elite collegiate athletes nationwide and plays a central role in advancing volleyball through coaching leadership and advocacy. Lahey’s recognition among the AVCA’s 2025 All-American selections reflects not only his skill but also his leadership and consistency on the court.
As the Trojans continue to build their legacy in men’s volleyball, Jackson Lahey’s achievements mark a high point in the program’s history and set a strong foundation for seasons to come.
