Goldsboro, NC – On Friday, April 4, 2025, around 12:38 p.m., officers with Goldsboro Police Department responded to a motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian at the intersection of Cashwell Drive and Eastgate Drive.
Upon arrival, officers determined that a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross Cashwell Drive. According to the investigation, including statements from the driver and an independent witness, the pedestrian entered the roadway without ensuring it was clear to cross.
Authorities confirmed that neither speed nor impairment were factors in the incident. As a result, the driver was not cited and was not found to be at fault for the crash.
Dennis L. Peacock, 53, of Goldsboro sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to UNC Health Wayne for treatment.
The Goldsboro Police Department continues to remind both drivers and pedestrians to remain alert and cautious at intersections.
