Doris Tyndall Lancaster, 93, passed away on February 15, 2024. Doris was born on May 9, 1930, to the late Hubert Haywood Tyndall and Viola Westbrook Tyndall. On September 9, 1950, she married the love of her life, James Franklin Lancaster, Jr. (Jimmy). They were blessed with three children, eight grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

Doris was a homemaker and helped her husband on the family farm. She was a member of Antioch Free Will Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher for many years.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 18, 2024, from 3:00 – 4:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home followed by a service to celebrate Doris’ life at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor Greg Stancil officiating. Interment will be on Monday, February 19, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. in Wayne Memorial Park.

Doris is survived by her son, Michael Lancaster (Gail); daughters, Lynn Lancaster Britt and Robin Lancaster Potter (Rhet); grandchildren, Joe Britt (Anne), Jonathan Britt (Stacy), Jaime Britt Cox (Jason), Caroline Potter Peede (Wayne), Greyson Potter (Briana); great-grandchildren, Adra Britt, Jenna Cox, Kayla Britt, Leah Britt, Julia Cox, Nathan Britt, Christian Peede, Jocelyn Potter and Olivia Potter. She is also survived by a special daughter, Patricia Mitchell; special friends, Verrie Leggett and son, Terry; and several nieces and nephews she loved very much.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers and sister, Dr. Hubert D. Tyndall, Gladys Tyndall Garris, and Carl Haywood Tyndall; and a special son-in-law, William Joseph Britt.
