Jean Causey West, 79, departed this life to be with her Lord on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, while being cared for at August Rehab and Care in Wilmington.

Jean was born in Mullins, South Carolina to the late Paul and Leavalle R. Causey on June 30, 1944. She was the rock of her family and they knew that she loved them with all her heart and truly was a blessing to them. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church. Jean enjoyed scrapbooking and found joy in watching all things beautiful, especially butterflies and cardinals.

A service to celebrate Jean’s life will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home. The family will greet friends following the service at the funeral home.

Jean is survived by her husband of 15 years, Milton A. West; daughter, Sonya Sanders and husband, Randall; granddaughter, Madison Trowbridge and husband, Randy; step-children, James West and wife, Jonna, Matthew West and wife, Amy, Tommy West and wife, Maria, and Christine Hugo and husband, Willie; step-grandchildren, Chelsea Corcoran, Gavin West, Addie West, Chloe Hollis, Mackenzie Mercado, Liam West, Lyka Hugo, Abigail Nanney and Michael Nanney; and brother, Dan Causey and wife, Kathy.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Donna Vanderhoef.

Services are entrusted to Seymour Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
