Damon Levon Grant, 24, passed away suddenly on Saturday, September 30, 2023. Damon was born in Wake County to Damon Grant of Shallotte and the late Elizabeth Carlisle Grant on October 20, 1998.

An avid duck hunter, Damon’s friends and family knew where to find him from October to January each year. Decked out in camouflage, he seized every opportunity to carry out his decoy and perfect his call. Whether he called for the woodies, mallards, geese, or others, Damon would always come home with a bag.

Damon worked as a plumber for Travis Creech Plumbing. In his spare time, he would enjoy doing almost anything as long as he was outside. Damon had a natural affinity for the outdoors and never missed the chance to be there. He was a Zaxby fanatic and always had a taste for their “Indescribably Good” chicken.

With a golden heart, Damon was a friend to all. There was nothing he wouldn’t do to help someone in need. His friends and family were his priority and he was thrilled over the prospect of earning the title “Dad” in January.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 12, 2023, from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. at Kenly Funeral Service followed by a service to celebrate Damon’s life at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel with Rev. Eric Narron officiating.

In addition to his father, Damon is survived by his fiancée, Rachel Parrish; brother, Jessie Grant and fiancée, Angel Walston; and was anticipating the birth of his daughter in January.
