Joan Beverly Coates Worley, 77, of Princeton, passed away Saturday at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Blaney F. and Roxie F Coates and was the wife of Roy G. Worley for 54 years. She was the mother of Victoria “Vicky” Worley for 58 years. Joan was a member of Tee’s Chapel Free Will Baptist Church and retired from Wayne Memorial Hospital where she had worked in security. She volunteered with the Red Cross, at nursing homes fixing hair for free, and the United Way, and the Princeton Rescue Squad in any capacity other than those required by an EMT. Joan did her part in helping take part in caring for her parents, and she even brought one of her sisters to live with her for years. Joan loved her Lord and Savior, her family, and her friends.
A service of love and remembrance will be held on Tuesday at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis Pollock officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the graveside service.
Joan was preceded in death by her brother, Blaney Coates Jr., and sisters, Christine Anderson, Elizabeth Burroughs, Joyce Hardy, and Edna Williams.
The family would like to thank Rhonda Creech and Bill with Johnston Health Care and Hospice for their care for Joan during her time of sickness.
