Firefighters from El-Roy, New Hope and Arrington were sent to a structure fire in the 1000 block of Spring Bank Road on Wednesday afternoon. As firefighters arrived on the scene, they found an old barn behind the residence engulfed in flames and already falling down. Firefighters finished putting out the blaze. According to the owner, the old building was being torn down and had no value. Firefighters remained on the scene for about an hour. A EMS unit was dispatched to the scene to assist in the ground operation.
