May 1, 2021, 92, Goldsboro –

Ann Jacqueline Langston Futrelle, 92, passed away Saturday, May 1. Born on December 25, 1928, she attended Presbyterian Hospital Nursing School and spent her life selflessly sharing her love and light with others and serving the Lord. She was married to her loving husband. Bill, for 52 years. She worked at Wayne Memorial Hospital as a registered nurse for many years, and during her tenure she served as supervisor of labor and delivery and central supply. She then retired to spend more time with her grandchildren, to travel with Bill, and to further serve her community by volunteering at Red Cross blood drives, delivering Meals on Wheels, serving as an election pole worker, and working with the Salvation Army’s Women’s Auxiliary. She also was very active in First Baptist Church of Goldsboro, and loved being a part of the senior group and choir. She also played the bells and served as a Sunday School teacher. She loved her church family. Her independent, kind, and soulful spirit lives on in all the lives that she touched throughout her lifetime , including her family, church, friends, and most recently her Brookdale community (The Pines) which she had grown to love.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 A.M. at Willowdale Cemetery with Dr. Glenn Phillips Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
