WCC Small Business Center Joins Coalition

Wayne Community College’s Small Business Center has joined the NC Small Business Coalition.

The coalition, spearheaded by the NC Rural Center, endeavors to identify and advance North Carolina-based policy solutions that support a more prosperous environment for small business and entrepreneurship.

Coalition partners endorse “North Carolina’s New Business Plan,” a policy agenda that was crafted by the Rural Center’s Small Business Policy Task Force, a bipartisan, statewide panel of small-business owners, nonprofit leaders, and entrepreneurship advocates. The plan is a set of state-specific policy recommendations addressing the challenges and opportunities facing entrepreneurs in the following focus areas: funding, support, opportunity, and knowledge.

“By signing on as a member of the NC Small Business Coalition, we have voiced our support for a statewide entrepreneurial ecosystem that promotes: an equitable, level playing field for all entrepreneurs, greater access to funding and capital, increased resources equipping entrepreneurs with the knowledge to start a business, and the adequate supports needed for those launching and expanding a business,” said WCC Small Business Center Director Kimberly Gamlin.
