About 2 Out Of 3 WCPS Students Return To In-Person Learning

By a ratio of about 2-to-1, Wayne County families are opting to send their students back to school for in-person learning.

According to figures provided to GoldsboroDailyNews.com from Wayne County Public Schools, approximately 12,000 of the district’s students are attending class in-person this week while about 5,500 students are attending WCPS’s 100% Virtual Learning Program.

The numbers closely mirror a reader poll on GoldsboroDailyNews.com where 65% of respondents said it is time to get students back into the classroom, while 35% says it’s too early to send kids back to school for in-person learning.

On Monday, WCPS reopened all of its schools to in-person instruction 5 days a week.  Families still have the option to keep their students learning remotely.
