February 20, 2021, 66, Goldsboro –

Bishop William Karl Bartlett, age 66, entered into the Heavenly home he has preached about for many years on Saturday at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville. Born in Wayne County, he was the son of Betsy Lane Bartlett and the late William Alford Bartlett. Karl was a member of Park East Church of God and was a longtime Bishop in the Church of God out of Cleveland, TN. A former member of the Goldsboro Volunteer Rescue Squad they will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 7:00 pm at Park East Church of God with Bishop Cullen Jarman and Bishop Wesley Jarman officiating. A committal service will be held Wednesday at 11:00 am at Pineview Cemetery in Seven Springs. Family members will greet friends Tuesday at the church following the service.

In addition to his mother, Karl is survived by his wife, Diane Gurley Bartlett; his children, John (Natasha) Bartlett, Renee (Craig) Brown, Willie (Alicia) Bartlett and Karla Laseter; a brother, Charles Eugene (Angela) Bartlett; eight grandchildren, Gabriel, Jeremy, Natalie, Darren, Ethan, Brooklyn, Jonah, and Kayla; along with is special canine companion, “Boomer”.
