Christine Martin Herring, 79, of Princeton passed away at her home on Sunday, February 7, 2021. She was born in Durham County on January 31, 1942 to the late Daniel Martin and Bessie Lee Martin. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Walton Kenneth “Shad” Herring; grandsons, Albert Daniel Edwards and Walton Lee Sullivan; son-in-law, Ricky Fail; and a sister, Dillie Faith Martin.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm on Thursday, February 11, 2021 in the chapel of Casey Funeral Home and Cremations.

The funeral will be held at 6:00 pm on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at Casey Funeral Home and Cremations chapel with the Reverend Tony Sasser and the Reverend Ralph Parker officiating. The committal will take place in Princeton Cemetery on Friday, February 12, 2021 at 11:00 am.

Mrs. Herring graduated from Rosewood High School in 1960. She was proud that she worked for 30 years for the telephone company. She also served as secretary for the Communication Workers of America. Christine loved working in her yard and garden. Most of all, Christine cherished and loved all of her family very much.

She is survived by sons, Lavan Sullivan (Nancy) of Bunn and Tony Sasser of Grantham; daughters, Lenora Sullivan of Princeton and Tammie S. Fail Norris (Trent) of Princeton; twin sister, Geraldine Dudley of Princeton; grandchildren, LeAnn Pender, Philip Edwards, Jr., Joseph Edwards, Ross Sullivan, Rebecca Brown and Noah Fail; great grandchildren, A. J. Morgan, Parker Jo Frawley, Jacob Ray, Sara Morgan, Emylee Denton, and Abigail Brown; and her feline companion, “Precious”.
