Two WCPS Schools Recognized For 100% Graduation Rate

Wayne School of Engineering and Wayne Early/Middle College High School were recently recognized by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction for having a 100% graduation rate for the 2019-20 school year. Each school received a special certificate for their achievement.

“It is very difficult for a school to achieve a 100% graduation rate,” states Dr. David Lewis, WCPS interim superintendent. “We congratulate both of these schools for their success and recognition for helping keep their students engaged in learning and committed to earning their high school diploma.”

In 2019-2020, the district’s 5-Year Cohort graduation rate was 83.5%. The graduation rate measures the percentage of ninth graders who graduate from high school within 5 years.
