Flood WARNING Issued For Neuse River

(NWS-Raleigh)–The National Weather Service in Raleigh has issued a Flood Warning for the Neuse River in Goldsboro until Friday Morning.  The river is expected to rise above flood stage late this morning to a crest of 18.7 feet early Wednesday afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage early Thursday afternoon. Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads.

The Flood Warning continues for the Neuse River Near Goldsboro.

* Until late Thursday night.

* At 8:15 AM EST Monday the stage was 18.0 feet.

* Flood stage is 18.0 feet.

* Minor flooding is forecast.

* Forecast…The river is expected to rise above flood stage late this morning to a crest of 18.7 feet early Wednesday afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage early Thursday afternoon.

* Impact…At 18.0 feet, Water overflows the banks at the Arrington Bridge Rd and upstream of the US-117 bridge. Ferry Bridge Rd begins to flood.

* Flood History…This crest compares to a previous crest of 20.1 feet on 11/19/2018.
