Marlene Brock Moody, 83, life-long resident of the Mount Olive area, went to be with her Lord and Saviour Sunday morning, December 20, 2020, to receive the most wonderful gift of all–eternity in heaven with Jesus!
Her family will receive friends at Brock’s Chapel Church beginning at 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 23, with services following at 2 p.m., officiated by Pastor Jeff Bartlett. She will be buried in the Pate Cemetery after the service. Flowers are welcome, or memorial gifts may be made to Brock’s Chapel Church, c/o Lynwood Herring, 529 Tram Road, Mount Olive NC 28365. Family and friends are also being received at the Mike and Peggy Moody residence, 1028 O’Berry Road, Dudley.
Marlene had been employed with Mt.Olive Pickle Company in its cafeteria and in its custodial department.
Marlene was preceded in death by her oldest son, Larry Junior Moody; a grandson, John Currie Houston; twin infant grandbabies; an infant great-grandson, Bryson; her parents, Currie and Eva Holmes Brock; and two brothers, Eldridge “Buddy” Brock and Jimmy Brock.
She is survived by four children and their spouses, Karen Faye M. Bennett of Mount Olive, Terry Wayne and Karen Moody of Lillington, Mike and Peggy Moody of Dudley, and Kim M. and Johnny Max Powell of Franklinton, and with whom Marlene was living at the time of her passing. Also surviving are grandchildren, Shannon Best, Jonathan Moody and wife, Stephanie, Brooke Moore, Brittany Temple, Tracey Toler and husband, Jaime, Marlana Olmos and husband, Rocky, Terrie Gail Best and fiance, Mark Danley, Jessica Outlaw, Melody Moody, Christian Houston, Heather Otellio, Samantha Arnold, and Joseph Otellio; 14 great-grandchildren; a brother and two sisters-in-law, Curtis and Janice S. Brock, and Margaret M. Brock, all of Mount Olive; several nieces and nephews whom Marlene loved very much to include Connie Brock Lupton on whom she could always depend.
Special acknowledgement is made to Terrie Gail, Jaylen, Gloriana, Marlana (and her little daughter, Briella) for their excellent care, love, and support extended to Marlene in her final months of life.
