James Carroll Sauls, Sr.

James Carroll Sauls, Sr.

December 20, 2020, 65, Goldsboro

James Carroll Sauls, Sr., met his Lord and Savior face to face on Sunday, December 20, 2020. James was born to the late John Irwin Sauls, Sr. and Doris Suggs Sauls on August 26, 1955. When James Carroll reached his heavenly home, his loving wife, Linda Walker Sauls was there to greet him.

First and foremost for James Carroll was his relationship with his Lord. A fine Christian example, James utilized his God-given talents in service to Pikeville Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church, where he served as a trustee, a deacon, and various other roles throughout his time as a member of the church.

James Carroll was gifted with a beautiful tenor voice and used it to sing praises to his maker. A lover of gospel music, he sang with Heaven’s Echoes, Prayz, and Legacy.

While James Carroll loved gospel music, it didn’t compare to his love of family. He walked hand-in-hand with his bride and love of his life, Linda Walker Sauls, for 28 years. As a loving father, he instilled the importance of family into his children. Because of the love he had for his children and them for him, his son Daniel was in preparation to give his dad the gift of life through a kidney transplant.

James Carroll retired from Convenient Glass Company after a long and fulfilling career with them. When he wasn’t working or singing, James Carroll loved spending time on the greens playing golf, and also enjoyed playing softball in years past.

A private service for the family will be held by the graveside on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 in the Pikeville Cemetery with Pastor Mark Whitfield officiating. A celebration of James Carroll’s life will be announced at a later date in the Pikeville Church.

James Carrol is survived by his devoted sons, Jay Sauls and Daniel Sauls; brothers, John Irwin Sauls and wife, Marty, and David Sauls and wife, Vicky; a special sister-in-law, Janet Walker; as well as numerous cousins, and nieces and nephews he loved very much.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Pikeville P.F.W.B. Church, 336 Nahunta Road, Pikeville, NC 27863 or to the American Kidney Fund, 11921 Rockville Pike, Suite 300, Rockville, MD 20852.
