Freda Barbour Fail, 72, passed away at the SECU Hospice House on Monday evening, December 14, 2020. She was born November 23, 1948 in Johnston County to the late Hubert Benjamin Barbour and Mary Johnson Barbour. She was also preceded in death by husband, Sidney “Glenn” Fail; brothers, Hubert Earl “Toady” Barbour, Mellie Gene Barbour and sisters, Lennie Laverne Hughes and Evelene “Eve” Lassiter

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 17, 2020 at 6:00 pm in the chapel of Casey Funeral Home and Cremations with the Reverend Phil Bowden officiating. The committal will take place in the Hastings Cemetery on Friday, December 18, 2020 at 2:00 pm.

The family will receive friends from 4:30pm until 6:00 pm on Thursday, December 17, 2020 at Casey Funeral Home and Cremations.

She was a member of Oakland Community Church and a former President of the Ladies Auxiliary. She had also been a past chairperson of the Minister and Council committees.

She is survived by daughter: Shannon Connolly and husband, Dan of Princeton; brothers, Lincoln Barbour, Larry M. Barbour, and E. J. Barbour all of Smithfield; sisters, Eleanor Price of Garner, and Veronica Johnson “Ronnie” of Greenville; grandson, Austin Wells and wife, Cheyenne; granddaughters, Brook and Anna Connolly; a very special niece, Jamie Strickland; aunt, Margaret Waggoner and many other nieces and nephews.

Although flowers are welcome the family suggests contributions be made to Oakland Community Church in memory of Freda.
