Mary Suzanne “Suzie” Hilbert was a caring wife, mother, sister, and friend. She left this world suddenly on December 10, 2020 at age 57.

She was born to John Allen and Brenda Kay Garris on August 5, 1963. After graduating from Southern Wayne High School, Suzie enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving twenty-one years before retiring as a Master Sergeant (E7) in 2011. Her military service as a medic and her compassion and love for others led her to pursue a career in nursing. She obtained her Associate of Science degree from the University of Mount Olive, followed by her RN from the Watts School of Nursing and BSN from Capella University. For the past five years Suzie worked in the Intensive Care Unit at Wilson Medical Center.

Suzie is preceded in death by her mother Brenda Kay and sister Kristie.

She is survived by her husband Wayne of the home, her daughter Brittany of Princeton, her son Jason of Wilmington, her sister Debbie Meek and husband Dave of Rosewood, her sister Amy Goode and husband John of Roseboro, her sister Wendy O’Quinn and husband Edgar of Smithfield, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Princeton, NC. Internment will immediately follow the service. The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the service.
