Billy Strickland emerged as Rosewood’s top boys’ runner during a Carolina 1A Conference meet against North Duplin last week.

Strickland ran the 5k race in 20 minutes. Strickland’s teammates Trenton Schillenger and Carl Belvins posted times of 20:38 and 20:57, respectively. Noel Rangel (21:46) emerged as North Duplin’s top runner, while Mason Best completed the 5k in 26:39.

On the girls’ side, Rosewood’s Jaylee Amy and Bailey and Katelyn Merritt finished in first and second, respectively. Amy finished in 23:40, while Merritt turned in a time of 24:37. North Duplin’s top runner was Maria Rojas.
