Randall Autry Barfield

Randall Autry Barfield, 82, completed his journey home on Saturday, November 7, 2020 to the welcoming words, “Well done, my good and faithful servant.”

Randall was born in Lenoir County on August 28, 1938 to the late Edgar Marvin Barfield and Essie Morgan Barfield. He pastored his home church, Fields Chapel Free Will Holiness Church, until his retirement. Randall was currently attending Pentecostal Christian Assembly in Goldsboro.

Randall enjoyed yard work and gardening, as reflected by his beautiful yard. He will be remembered for being a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend whose love for life and others was apparent to all who met him.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home followed by a service to celebrate Randall’s life at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel with Rev. Sherwood Howell officiating. Interment will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 12, 2020 at Fairview Cemetery in LaGrange.

Randall is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jo Ann Benton Barfield; daughter, Lisa Ann Barfield Barnes and husband Jeff; son, Dean Autry Barfield; sister, Julia Peedin of Goldsboro; brothers, Warren “Sam” Barfield and wife Pat of Dunn, and Timmy Ray Barfield and wife Carolyn of Snow Hill; and his grandchildren, Christian Lee Barnes and Nicholas Dean Barnes.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Effie Heath, Josie Gibbs, Glennie Wiggins, Joan Hill, Mary Dixon, and Lucille Camacho; and brothers, Marvin Barfield, Melvin Barfield and Eddie Lee Barfield.
