Christine Weaver “GiGi” Satterfield, 84, of Pikeville went to her heavenly home Friday evening, November 6, 2020 at Wayne UNC Health Care.

Due to our current pandemic and the safety of all, a graveside service to celebrate her life will be held Monday, November 9, 2020 at 3 p.m. at Pikeville Cemetery with Pastor Barry Stallings officiating. The family will greet friends following the service.

Mrs. Satterfield was born in Wayne County on April 29, 1936 to the late James Wesley and Maggie McCandless Weaver. She was a graduate of Pikeville High School, Class of 1954 and past employed with Leader Brothers and Family Shoe Store in downtown Goldsboro before opening her own catering business. Her skill and knowledge led her to win 71 1st place awards in the Wayne County Agricultural Fair, 29 2nd place and 2 “Best of the Show” awards for her cake decorating skills that she was very proud of. She was a lifelong member of Pleasant Grove Original Free Will Baptist Church in Pikeville where she served in many areas including hospitality minister, member of the choir and the ladies auxiliary. She loved her entire church family, southern gospel music and especially her only granddaughter, Morgan. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew her.

She is survived by two sons, Marvin Wesley Satterfield of South Carolina and Frankie Carl Satterfield and wife, Lisa of Pikeville and her granddaughter, Morgan Riley Satterfield and boyfriend, Joseph Dominic Biscardi.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Morrell “Mutt” Satterfield.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Pleasant Grove Original Free Will Baptist Church.

The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
