Elizabeth Faye Thornton Bartlett, 78, passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.
Faye was born in Wilson County on July 29, 1942 to the late Warren Hudson Thornton and Grace Huffman Thornton. She was married for over 50 years to the late John Franklin Bartlett. Faye was a beloved teacher’s assistant at Meadow Lane School in Goldsboro where she devoted her life to children. She was a member of Walnut Creek Free Will Baptist Church.
Her most significant role in life and what she did best was being a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Faye leaves behind a legacy of unconditional love and support for the people she cared about. Her enthusiasm and charm will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 31, 2020 from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home followed by a service to celebrate Faye’s life at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel. A private interment for the family will be in Fairview Cemetery in LaGrange, NC.
Faye is survived by her daughter, Tanya B. Grady and husband Lester Ray Grady, Jr.; son, George Franklin Bartlett and wife Anne Marie; grandchildren, Lester Ray Grady III and Holly Capps; a great-granddaughter, Jahcelyn Grady; sister, Lila Thornton McCoy of Virginia; and brother, Warren Douglas Thornton of Michigan.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Peggie Copeland.
