Help “Fill The Theatre” Today & Thursday

The United Way of Wayne County is hoping you help them “Fill the Theatre” this week.

Today and Thursday, October 28 and 29, the United Way will be accepting donations of nonperishable food items and paper products at the Paramount Theatre from 9 AM – 5 PM.

Sherry Archibald, the Executive Director of the United Way of Wayne County, talked about the re-imagined food drive with Jeff Farrow on Goldsboro’s Greatest Hits 1150 and 98.3.

Archibald says many food pantries already took a hit this year.

She also says the United Way worked with the Paramount Theatre and the City of Goldsboro to ensure the “Fill he Theatre” food drive would be safe.

The donated items will be distributed to local non-profits, including the Salvation Army, Society of St. Vincent de Paul and the Community Soup Kitchen.

The United Way is encouraging donors to dress in a Halloween costume or masks and take a selfie to enter their #SpookySelfie contest.

Drop-off donors are welcome.

Volunteers will be wearing masks and complying with social distancing procedures.

Roughly 7,000 children in Wayne County struggle with hunger.
