MOUNT OLIVE – The University of Mount Olive men’s and women’s track and field teams in a continued effort to reach out to the Mount Olive community, hit the streets for a town clean-up Saturday morning.

In what has turned into an annual event, the track and field teams went from street to street collecting trash and other debris. Over 100 student-athletes pitched in to help support the initiative of comradery and community service.

“This is our third year doing the town clean up.  Coach [Justin] Potter worked closely with the mayor’s office to coordinate everything.  This is my favorite service event because our athletes get the chance to go out and engage with our community.  We look forward to continuing this tradition for years to come,” said Director of Cross Country/Track and Field Earl Graves.
