Edna Mae Jinnette Talton, age 93 of the Nahunta Community, passed away, suddenly at her home on Sunday, October 18, 2020. She was born on July 11, 1927 to the late Archie and Maggie Deaver Jinnette. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Fred (Beat) J. Talton, Jr.

She had been a homemaker and spent a lot of years with her husband farming and they had been a member of the Home Demonstration Curb Market for 27 years. In her later years, she enjoyed baking cakes, pies, candy and those delicious apple jacks for her church and friends.

She was the oldest member of Pleasant Grove F.W.B. Church (The Grove). She loved her church family and enjoyed serving the Lord and helping others. She was the chairman of the church Benevolence Ministry and had been for many years. She was the past chairman of the Homecoming meals. She was past Secretary/Treasurer of the Lancaster/Bryan/Talton Sunday School Class for 19 years.

The family will greet friends from 1:30 to 3:00 pm prior to the service on Sunday at the church.

A service to celebrate her life will be held Sunday, October 25, 2020 at 3:00 pm at Pleasant Grove F.W.B. Church in Pikeville with Pastor Barry Stallings and her loving grandson, Pastor Freddie Gooding officiating. A private graveside service will be held at a later time at the Pikeville Cemetery with Pastor Barry Stallings officiating.

She is survived by her daughter, Janice Talton Gooding & husband, Durwood of Pikeville; grandson, Pastor Freddie Gooding; great granddaughter, Ardin Gooding Hayes (Michael); great-great grandsons, Ryland and Easton; sister, Rose J. Whitfield (Elton) of LaGrange; Brother, Kenneth Jinnette (JoAnne) of Troutman, NC; also several nieces and nephews and a sister-in-law, Patsy Talton.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Jones and her brother, Jimmy Jinnette.
