Early Voting Off To Busy Start In Wayne County

According to the Wayne County Board of Elections, business has been brisk at area voting stations as Early Voting got underway Thursday.

The latest results through Saturday show just over 12% of Wayne County’s 75,268 eligible voters cast ballots at the five Early Voting locations. The next update will be Monday evening after 7:30 PM.

9,334 voters took advantage of the good weather this weekend to cast their vote with the majority, 4145, going to the Maxwell Center. A complete breakdown by date and location is available here.

As of 1:30 p.m. Monday, nearly 1.7 million North Carolinians, or 23 percent of registered voters, had cast ballots in the 2020 general election.

In a GoldsboroDailyNews.com online poll, 61% said they would be voting early, 24% would vote of Election Day, 12% would use Absentee/Mail In ballots and 4% said they had no plans to vote at all.
