Evelyn Jean Johnson Horne, 83, passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2020 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

Evelyn was born in Bladen County on November 3, 1936 to the late Archie Avant Johnson and Lillian Orr Johnson. She was married to the late Billy Franklin Horne. Evelyn retired from Wayne Memorial Hospital and was a member of Faith Free Will Baptist Church.

A service to celebrate Evelyn’s life will be held on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of Faith Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Dann Patrick officiating. A private interment for the family will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

Evelyn is survived by her son, Michael Cork of Goldsboro; daughter, Linda Cash of Pikeville; grandchildren, Brandon Cork, Stephanie Cash Ham and husband Scott, and Misti Cork Bouyear and husband, David; and great-grandchildren, Haley Bouyear and David Bouyear IV.
