Last Call For Duke Energy Citizenship & Service Award Nominations

Today, September 22, is the last day to submit applications for the Duke Energy Citizenship & Service Award.

Since 2014, the Wayne County Chamber of Commerce and has partnered with Duke Energy to award the annual Duke Energy Citizenship & Service Award. This is a tribute to individuals or groups who make a difference in their communities or places of work by using their time, talents and compassion to positively impact the lives of others. Recipients of the award help foster a culture of citizenship and service that acts as a catalyst for others to become involved in civic and social activities. The award is designed to recognize outstanding volunteer service and civic participation over a twelve month period.

The winner will be announced at the annual ‘Lessons Learned in Leadership Luncheon’ on October 22nd.

Past recipients include Selena Bennett (2014), Mike Haney (2015), Rick Sumner (2016), Daniel Weeks (2017), Kenzie Hinson (2018) and Shirley Edwards (2019).
