A graveside service will be held Wednesday,  September 23, 2020 at 2 p.m. at Elmwood Cemetery in Fremont.  Visitation will be held prior to the service from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m. at Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home in Fremont.  The family will greet friends other times at the home of Linda and Donnie Davis at 540 True Vine Road in Pikeville.

Mr. Joyner was born in Wayne County on February 12, 1936 to the late Ashley and Lucy Hall Joyner.

He is survived by his two sisters, Linda Davis and husband, Donnie of Pikeville and Elizabeth Pierce and husband, Joe of Lucama; three brothers, Robert Joyner and wife, Judy of Pikeville, James Joyner of Pikeville and Roy Joyner of Dudley.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Joyner is preceded in death by his sister, Louise Taylor.

The family is in the care of Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home in Fremont.
