Community Groups To Host Virtual Non-Partisan Candidates Forum

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Epsilon Phi Omega Chapter, Goldsboro Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, and Community Voter Collaboration Group are partnering to host a Virtual Non-Partisan Candidates Forum on Thursday, October 1, 2020 from 7:30 PM – 9:30 PM. The event will be held via Zoom. Registration is required and may be completed by visiting the following link: http://bitly.com/EPO-forum

Candidates for 28 contested and uncontested races that affect Wayne County have been invited to participate in the forum.

Epsilon Phi Omega President, Mrs. Marva Scott shares, “We think that it is important to co-sponsor this candidate forum to give the community the opportunity to hear from candidates who desire to represent us in positions that have a great impact on the citizens, surrounding communities as well as the State of North Carolina. The forum will provide information voters will need in order to make informed decisions on Election Day 2020.”

Ms. Jeannette Barnes, President-Elect of the Goldsboro Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta, further exclaims, “There is power on every ballot. There is power in every vote. So the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority remains committed to get the word out to the voters to “step to the ballot and make sure their voice is heard and that their vote is counted.”

Community organizer, Mark Colebrook added, “At a time when there is so much divisiveness, it is important for our community to see that organizations can work together for the betterment of OUR COMMUNITY. The Community Voter

Collaboration Group’s main mission is to help create one message for voting because there is already enough confusion out there about voting.
