James Tanner Bjork, 35, went home on Monday, August 31, 2020 to be with the other angels and loved ones in heaven.

Tanner was born in Mecklenburg County on October 5, 1984 to James and Wanda Casey Bjork. He was a miracle and a blessing from the moment he was born. Tanner shaped lives of family, friends and random strangers in ways that made them into better people. His smile was like sunshine. A subtle punch on your arm let you know he was there. Tanner was a jokester and a charmer, he loved to flirt with his nurses and caregivers. Tanner loved the Christmas season and took it upon himself to celebrate and spread Christmas cheer year-round. Though he is no longer with us, Tanner will never leave our hearts, minds or spirits.

Tanner will lie in state at Seymour Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 2, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. A private graveside service for the immediate family will be held at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

He is survived by his father, James Bjork and friend, Joan Jernigan of Clinton and sisters, Heather Hill and husband Robert of Clinton and Jenny Moore and husband Chris of Apex; and four nephews, Tyler, Hayden, Dylan, and Landon.

Tanner was preceded in death by his mother, Wanda C. Bjork and brother, Garrett Bjork.
