Doris Jean Worrells, 86, of Goldsboro went to be her Lord and Savior Sunday, June 28, 2020 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro.

 

A walk thru viewing will be held Monday, July 6, 2020 from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.   Due to Covid-19, a private family graveside service will be held on Tuesday at Rest Haven Cemetery in Dudley.

 

Mrs. Worrells was born in Wayne County on June 19, 1934 to the late Alexander and Velma Weeks Brinson.  She was a member of Darden Chapel OFWB Church where she served as Mother of the church board and many other titles within the church.

 

She is survived by her four sons, Albert Worrells Jr., Pastor Anthony Worrells, Bishop Joseph Worrells and Michael Worrells; three daughters, Doris Marie Coley, Elaine Worrells and Felicia Carmon; five brothers, Linwood Brinson, Calvin Brinson, Richard Brinson, Stephen Reginald Brinson and Leslie Davis; five sisters, Dr. Jerrelle Jones, Mary Turner, Virginia Turner, Velma Knight, Vivian Morrisey and Annie Davis; eleven grandchildren and host of great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Lee Worrells Sr.; one son, Charles Earl Worrells; two sisters and three brothers.

 

The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
