Flooded Roads Slow Travel In Southern Wayne County (PHOTOS)

Heavy storms moved across areas of Wayne and Duplin counties Friday afternoon, dumping very heavy rain and causing the county roads and town streets to flood. Smith Chapel firefighters responded to multiple crashes on Highway 55 in southeastern Wayne County. The National Weather Service says up to six inches of rain fell across the Southern Wayne County area Friday.  Forecasters are predicting another round of heavy storms could cross the area Saturday afternoon.  A Flood Warning has been issued for Southwestern Wayne County.
