Curtis Lee Evans, age 82, of the Rones Chapel community near Mount Olive passed away Saturday morning, May 16, 2020, at his home.

His family will hold a private service at Calypso Presbyterian Church, led by Pastor Nick Nielsen. His cremated remains will be interred in Williamsburg, Va. to be next to those of his late wife, Sandra Reed Evans.

Mr. Evans was born in Chippewa Bay, NY to parents, Curtis Lee Evans and Thelma E. Evans, both now deceased.

Due to Mr. Evans work commitment, he and his family lived in various places through the years. He was plant manager/vice president of manufacturing at Kirkwood Industries in Cleveland, Ohio prior to his retirement.

Survivors include two sons, Lee Evans and wife, Sheila, of Tampa, Fla., and Scott Evans and wife, Ellen, of Williamsburg; grandchildren, Curtis Lee Evans, Katherine Ann Evans, and William Curtis Evans and wife, Rachel; great-granddaughters, Sophia and Maria Evans; a sister and brother-in-law, Nancy E. and David Underhill of Mount Olive; a niece, Leigh Ann Underhilll; nephew, Dave Underhill and wife, Melanie, and their children, Lindsay and Andrew Underhill, all of Mount Olive.

Memorial gifts may be made to Calypso Presbyterian Church (P..O. Box 321, Calypso NC 28325), where he had worshiped since his relocating to Mount Olive some six years ago.
